Oxbar®

Oxygen ingress into a package can cause the flavor, appearance, and nutritional value of a product to degrade. Constar protects the integrity of sensitive products such as beer and flavored alcoholic beverages vulnerable to oxygen with our multi-layer Oxbar® advanced oxygen scavenging technology. Oxbar, incorporated into the package, consumes virtually all oxygen that tries to enter a package through the PET walls, protecting the product and extending the shelf life.

Passive barriers partially lose their capability as temperatures rise. By contrast, Oxbar is an active, oxygen-scavenging material that re-balances its rate of reaction to follow changes in temperature. This assures consistent, high-level protection, even if the distribution system imposes variable conditions.

Oxbar® oxygen scavenging material is incorporated into the center layer of multi-layer containers where it controls oxygen and CO2 permeation and protects product integrity.
